Two shears. One complete kit. The price of one name-brand pair.

I'm Jun. I sharpen shears for a living, and I see what stylists are actually cutting with every day. The brands that charge $800 for a single shear are selling you a name. This bundle is our two best-selling shears โ€” the Ergo cutting shear and the Ergo No-Line blender โ€” for the same price you'd pay for one pair from those brands. Same AG16 cobalt Japanese steel. Same 61 HRC hardness. Same convex edge, made by hand in California. A complete set that covers every cut, at a price that should embarrass the competition.

What's in the set

Ergo Hair Cutting Shear ยท 6.0"
Our best-selling wet cutter. Ergonomic offset handle, convex edge, clean quiet section work all day. The one I hand most stylists first.
Ergo No-Line Blending Shear ยท 35T (right) / 30T (left)
Our best-selling blender. Removes 7โ€“10% of density and leaves zero visible line. The finishing shear that makes every cut look intentional.
Steel: AG16 cobalt Japanese
Hardness: 61 HRC
Edge: true convex
Made: by hand in California
Try the set for 30 days. If either shear isn't right for your hand, send them back. Both carry a lifetime manufacturer warranty, and I answer every message myself.

The steel, explained

What AG16 steel actually means

The HRC number is the Rockwell Hardness rating โ€” the higher it is, the harder the steel, the finer the edge, and the longer it stays sharp. Most brands won't tell you what's in the blade.

Budget steel ยท 420 grade ~52โ€“55 HRC

Dulls fast. Needs frequent sharpening to stay usable.

Premium ยท VG-10 Japanese 59โ€“60 HRC

What most $400โ€“$850 shears are built on. The industry standard for premium.

AG16 cobalt ยท Japanese 61 HRC

Higher cobalt than VG-10. 800+ cutting hours between sharpenings.

Price doesn't tell you a shear is good

Brands charge whatever they want for their name. What actually matters is the steel, the edge, and how it's built. Ours is the same grade the big names put in $850 shears, made by hand in California. You get the build without paying for the logo.

๐Ÿ›ก  30-day happiness guarantee โ€” not right for your hand, send it back

โญ  Lifetime manufacturer warranty on every shear

"Every pair is sharpened and checked by hand before it ships. If something's ever off, you message me and I answer it myself."

FAQ's

Picking a length

5.5" is best for detail work and close precision cutting.

6" is the most popular all-around length. It works for most cutting styles and hand sizes.

6.85"-7" suits pros who do a lot of volume, big chops, or scissor-over-comb work. The long blade helps you move quickly through your work

Not sure? The shear size guide has a full breakdown.

Let's talk about the price

This is not a normal price for shears of this quality. Name brands charge 3x for the same build quality and metal.

Sometimes they won't even disclose the quality and you are buying Amazon-quality shears for a luxury price point. Criminal, we know.

We have sharpened thousands of shears. We know what holds up and what doesn't. Trust us when we say, these are top-quality, long-lasting shears with VG-10 or AG-16 steel and a ball-bearing tension system built to keep out hair and grime.

No fast dulling shears. No clogged shears.

What if I don't like it once I get it?

Your shears come with a 30-day happiness guarantee. If the shear isn't the right fit (wrong size, wrong feel, not what you expected) contact us within 30 days for a full refund. No runaround.

Every shear also carries a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

How long will the edge hold?

With proper care, VG-10 or AG-16 Japanese steel holds an edge for 800+ cutting hours.

For a full-time pro that's roughly 3โ€“4 months between sharpenings. For part-time or color focused pros, closer to 6โ€“8 months.

The signs it's time: Resistance that wasn't there before.

When it's time for a sharpening we are here for you!

Do I need to do anything when it arrives?

Check the tension before your first use.

How to check: A properly tensioned shear should hold its own weight when the blade is opened to 90ยฐ. It should not close all the way shut, making a small peace sign โœŒ๏ธ
